Thank you everyone. Cindy and I are truly humbled by your support and we're so glad to know that you enjoy our films. Because this subject keeps coming up, I will try to address the matter a bit more and with the hopes of answering some of your questions.
Just the facts:
1. We did NOT get kicked off the JKX - We chose to no longer attend them.
2. We were NEVER sponsored by Nitto - We wore their decals on our doors just like everyone who attends the JKX and most still do well after the fact.
3. We do NOT get paid to attend or film the JKX - We pay our way to go and made all our videos on our own dime.
There are multiple reasons why we won't be attending future JKX's but the biggest of which is time. It was one thing when it was just one event a year but even at that, we pretty much all but stopped running hard trails in the month of August and did so just to make sure we didn't break anything before the JKX. Now that there are 3 events, one of which is clear across the country (Heartland was a 3 week trip for us) and the other half way across, the JKX would literally be the ONLY wheeling we did all year long. Of course, whenever we weren't on the JKX, we'd be forced to sit behind our computers and work on making the videos. If helps to put things into perspective, it took us about 2.5 months to produce PNW. In other words, our whole life would be nothing more than the JKX and as fun as it may be, it's simply isn't something we want to devote our lives to.
The JKX is a great event and now that Nitto is taking over the show, it'll most likely be better than ever before. As far as the crew they will be bringing in to do the filming goes, I have seen their work and they make our stuff look like family videos shot with a Sony Handycam... oh wait.
Please note that Cindy and I aren't going anywhere. We will still be doing all kinds of runs, all around the country and will still make our videos. They will just not be of the JKX.
