Caught the Bug
Been thinking about starting a thread like this for a while. Whether in our travels or off the beaten path came across places that serve awesome food to add to our memories. Name and location would be nice and pics a plus. I have a few to start.

Victor's on 40th and Farnham Omaha, NE. One man show. Gyros and lentil soup.

Bierhaus1842. Council Bluffs, IA
ham hocks ....and European biers

High Plains Homestead near Chadron, NE.
Indian Tacos.

Dixie Grill, right across Aloha Stadium on Oahu.... Broke da mout kine grindz and a Screamin Mai Tai with a shot of 151 that will have you buying a new jeep from the dealership down the street cause you have to do something til your buzz wears off. Just sayin :blush:

Wow! Bet the views were fantastic. My wife and I had lunch on top of Mt. Pilatus overlooking Lake Lucerne in Switzerland a few years back. Have to find some pics of those.

My family used to own a lot of land just outside Helen. It really is a neat little town in the middle of know where. Some great shops, bars and restaurants in a really cool setting. There are also some great trails to be found there and Octoberfest is off the hook. They also host a Jeepfest each year that gets a pretty good turn out.

Great thread Catahoula. I drove through Council Bluffs a few weeks ago while I was in NE (I explored IA and MO too). If I had known about that spot in Council Bluffs then......

Copper Creek Inn in Ashford, WA. Nice place for breakfast if your headed up to Mt Rainier. Really make you feel like you're at home.

MMMMMM, make sure to wrap it all in some Naan. The food is actually pretty good except for this lamb type curry I had the other night. Don't know what part of the lamb it was, but I'm guessing the tail end :shock:

Strange little spot off I-40 on the way to AZ. People are strange, but friendly, food was decent. Apparently a huge tourist attraction because a movie was filmed there back in '87.

Highly recommended by Overlander AND your local greasy spoon cook. :yup:
