Hello everyone my name is Danny. I have always wanted a Jeep. But there have been times in my life where I wasn’t the right time. So now after years of saving, I recently got a used 2008 jeep wrangler JK 4 door. As of right now the jeep is stock. I have not done any upgrades to it as of yet. So I am hoping to get as much advise as I can so please don’t get too annoyed. So my Jeep is also my everyday driving vehicle. Basically what I want to do is 2.5”-3” lift with either 33” to 35” tires, and change out the rims. I do a lot of reading and research on lift kits, tires and suspension, etc. But I am hoping to get so advise on what is good, bad and ugly and also what I need to know and what is useless. I have talk to others who have jeeps and I have gotten advise that has been either very discouraging to where someone told me that I should have never bought my Jeep because it’s not a Rubicon. To pretty helpful advice and uplifting. I have a list on Frig which is called the 3-5 year plan(wife thinks I nuts). For the most part I will be driving my jeep to work every day. I do plan to do some trail riding, do some camping this summer, and this summer a lot of beach riding mostly. Just do give everyone and idea of where I am at. With my Jeep being my everyday ride I need it to be, I think more road ready, with the capability to go off road at any time.

Welcome to WAYALIFE Dannyboy76!! We're gald to have you here and hope that we can be of some assistance to you :yup:

Regarding your Jeep and its future build, do you have an idea of what kind of budget you'll have to work with? If you're just hoping to run 33'-35's, you can actually get there for pretty cheap. Let us know what you can spend and we'll try to point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the forum, this is a great place to learn and find help, people here are great and very willing to point you in the right direction.

Try not to get discouraged when people tell you its not worth it unless you have a Rubicon. The JK is a very cable vehicle and the JK Rubicon is even more capable.
What it will come down to is what suits you best for the type of wheeling you will do and your budget (usually first on this list). As I said before this is the place to get all the info you'll need to make good choices.

Enjoy :thumb:

My budget is pretty tight. I am just looking at going 2.5 with 33”. Nothing that really wont compromise my everyday driving. I was looking at AEV and Terraflex so far. I would love to so some trails, but nothing too much since this is my only car. Planning on do some traveling over the summer to NC and do some beach driving and camping. But, for the future something in the next 2 years or so, go up to 3.5 with 35”, do a regear and some other work. Then hope to drive out to some of trails out west. But I am hoping to get all the advice I can get.

Well, a 2.5" budget boost is definitely the way to go if you're on a budget. If you go the coil spacer route, you can pretty much do it for about $500 or so and for your purposes, it's really all you need. Depending on how much you can ultimately spend and what all you already have, I might choose to go this route and use any additional money you might have left and forward it toward rocker guards and tow points front and rear.

This is what I was thinking as well. I was also looking at getting a rack for my stand up paddle board. So instead of spending money on a big lift right now. I could just spread it out.

Welcome! :standing wave:

Rubicon or no rubicon...it's still a jeep! I can not imagine someone who actually knows what they are talking about, bag on someone for not buying a Rubicon. Did they have snorkels, roof racks and North Face jackets too? :cheesy:

Welcome to Wayalife... I'm from jersey too and I have a 2.5 coil lift with 33 's if you ever want to see it let me know...
