hello all
i hope im not beating a dead horse with this thread but I am looking to do a spring swap on my 2dr jk as the title says its got a set of 14/55 springs, when I got it I convinced the dealer to put the hitch on for me for free(along with various other things
) and I have read that if I were to swap the coils from say a 4dr dual top with max tow that I would gain a bit of lift(somewhere between 1"-1.5", or so im told) because the springs are thicker and taller. my main concern is that its sitting level right now which i like and im thinking about doing the swap to an 18/59 set.
So does anyone have experience with this and if so did you have rake before, and did it remove it or did it stay the same as before only higher. the main reason im considering this option is that its brand new so if i replace the coils with the thicker/heavier OEM coils, then my warranty can be maintained. with an actual lift i "could" run into issues with the warranty down the road. also it seems like the coils are cheaper to buy then say a teraflex 2.5BB and much cheaper then a full 2.5 coil lift. then id slap a set of 285/70/17's on there and drive it like that for a while. i think it would also help for towing so the rear end wouldn't sag as much
