I called Coast and asked them when I installed mine, as long as you don't separate the DS at the spline, the yoke doesn't have any marks and just bolt it up.
So if I don't split it like this I can just bolt it in and now worry bout it?
Yes just bolt it up. If you split it after it's on you should be fine as well. That is mine in the picture.
May I ask the reason for splitting it ?
I didn't do it on purpose lol. No lower control arms, wheels/tires and shocks allowed a lot of droop and it came apart. Was working on the rear axle when it happened.
Was it a pain to get right again ? Or did u just put it back together and it was ok
