From NY to Moab East coast pilgrimage to Moab 2014

Hell ya bro. Started looking at trails last week. Got a list goinView attachment 56338

MOFO - Original 9

If you are using the Moab book by Charles Wells (and you should) don't overlook some of the easier/easy trails...some of them are the most beautiful trails in Moab. If you guys want to camp, I recommend the White Rim trail, and if you boys have time, head on into the maze district (but be very well prepared.)

Hurrah Pass, Potash Road/Shafer Switchbacks, Chicken Corners, Long Canyon, etc.

Totally agree, i would avoid EJS aswell. Not that i have anything against it, but i plan to wheel!

I have that book and its awesome. This is my second trip down. Also have topo maps and gps cords off traildamage. I have a bunch more trails on backup incase of bad weather. White rim was one of them and its still kinda in the back of my mind. I still may save it for another trip though. The trail does look amazing.

Plan your trails carefully. If Red Rock 4Wheelers have an organized run the same day, on the trail you want to run, you will be denied access to it.

EJS is great if you are going to Moab specifically for the event. If you are not, and just want to wheel, it's a huge PITA.

Yea I'm planning on after EJS might have to push it back till June cuz of work

I don't always wheel , but when I do I keep it tight......... Stay dirty my friends.

That would give me some time to save.
Need roughly $900 just in fuel from Michigan. Yikes! Would certainly be a fun trip and well worth it.

This sounds like a blast! Too bad it's probably a few years down the road for me and the growing fam. I will make it happen though!

Good luck all

Well the time has come I will be departing on June 24th after I get my bead locks all mounted up. Excited is not the word to describe how I feel about this trip. Looks like just under 10,000 miles round trip from Long Island to Cali and back to Long Island with plenty of stops along the way. I really hope I get to meet some of you west coast guys along my journey !!

This trip is finally here after months of planning and wrenching the silver fox and reptar " my brothers green JKU" will be leaving from Long Island NY Wednesday morning and hopefully be in Tennessee by Thursday night. Sleeping from now till Wednesday is completely out of the question as excitement and anticipation reach critical levels. Moab and California here we come.
