NEWBIE RUN: Last Chance Canyon Dec. 7th.

Jawbone does sell gas but be prepared to drop some coin for it.

Rockyjk, if your coming over 178, drop into Ridgecrest. There is a group of us meeting at Starbucks at 0830 and will head to the trailhead at 0900. PM me if you want to meet up so I'll know who to look for.

Keep your head low and your powder dry.

If I take the 178 it'll take me almost an hour more but I'll pm you later in the week, don't want to get lost again lol

Heard on the local radio station news that we are in for some possible weather Saturday. Might even get snow with a high of 47! Could make for some fun huh! Hey I got a coat and a heater, no problem for me!!

Yeah. I was just checking this too. Looks like could be fun for sure.

Snow isn't the issue, its the rain. The place has been hammered this yr by flash floods and that is the true threat. From the rock and debris we saw moved from the last set of storms that moved through there must have been some nice flows through that canyon.

DaK hit the nail on the head. Those canyons are notorious for flash flooding. It washes out Garlock (Red Rock Randsberg Rd.) every time it rains hard. We will have to see how it looks the day of. We all know you can't put to much faith in the weather guys. Lol

Keep your head low and your powder dry.

Saturday
Cloudy with rain and snow showers in the morning. Mostly sunny in the afternoon. High 44F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
Sounds like a good day to me! :idontknow:

So you are saying that sandals should go to optional? Hahaha. I personally love cold weather. Snow rain wind... whatever. Only think I don't luke is freezing rain!

Sorry, I won't make this run. You can remove me from the maybe list.

My girlfriend has decided to celebrate her birthday that day :yawn37:

We have plenty of people with decades of desert experience. I have 25 years working in flood control. No worries. We know what is safe and what is not.

I dunno, the first six names on the list (including you) could be trouble even in a dry parking lot. ;) :honey:

Tell all the peeps hello...sure wish I could be there.

Two wake ups left. :D it was 20 degrees at 0500 this morning. This is going to be an awesome run. I'm looking forward to it.
