Someone just tried to assassinate Trump

Maybe I’m missing something, but COPA doesn’t force a property seller to sell for less than market value. The nonprofit gets a right of first refusal but it has to beat all other offers. So, the seller isn’t getting screwed out of money.

While I don’t agree with such a law, at least it isn’t shackling an owner into a sale at below market.
 
Yet! When it doesn’t accomplish what they want they will just take the next logical step.
And that would be a taking in violation of the 5th Amendment to the Constitution, especially if the property was given to a NGO. Eminent domain law is pretty well-established and NYC is already pushing close to the edge.
