The PRICE You Pay to Live in the GOLDEN STATE

Spent some quality time in California over the last few days and if there's one thing that really surprised me was how crazy expensive it is to exists there. Sure, gas prices are always stupid high, as is sales tax and I get that but holy cow, even food is a lot more expensive! For example, we had breakfast at a chain branch restaurant and I ordered chicken fried steak that normally costs about $15 if I were to get it in Arizona or Nevada but in California, it cost me $22!!

I guess it's just one of the many prices you pay to live in the Golden State.

My girlfriend and I have pretty much given up on going out to eat. It’s stupid everywhere and mostly for mediocre food.

The other day, we met up with her brother and his wife for coffee and breakfast down in North Park, for reference not a nice area, where we got 2 medium sized coffees and 2 sausage/egg/cheese breakfast sandwiches.

The sandwiches were on English muffins so you can imagine the small size… $46 total. No joke. $14 sandwiches and $8 coffees. Just like that it went on our list of places to never go again.

That’s ok Virginia Democrats (who just swept this last election) have plans in store to implement those same ideas here. Increase minimum wages check. Demand only “ clean” energy check. Gun control check. More regulations on small businesses check and check.
We need to get election fraud taken care of or these will be coming to every state.

Seriously. If I’m going to pay a small fortune for a meal might as well sit down and get service.
My wife asked me to pick up Taco bell a few years ago, I waited for over 40 minutes in the drive through, our total was almost $40 and THE FOOD SUCKED!

The local Mexican food restaurant can usually have a call in order ready in the 15 minutes it takes to drive there and costs about the same to feed 4 people (maybe a few dollars more).

Yeah, that’s true for all fast food, it all sucks. It wasn’t so bad pre-Covid because it wasn’t so expensive, you just felt guilty for buying crap food. 😂

That's what it costs me at most truck stops

Hell fast food places in truck stops are way worse than the ones that are not. And the prices are doubled. And don't eat McDonald's at any Love's truck stop. It will be just like eating Taco Bell, you will be running to the toilet
