It's already proven many photos released were flat out fakes. I personally don't think we landed on the moon. But if we truly did, why the fake photos?

No if. It’s not possible. It’s not possible for us to get past the Van Allen Radiation belt today, it certainly wasn’t possible 60 years ago.
