Cocktail Hour

It was a hot day at the dump disposing of years of used motor oil, diff lube, antifreeze, transmission fluid, old AEV rims and a car battery. I even made some money! I took @Traciehue but she is unwilling to give me credit for a ‘Date Night’. 😢

I guess I’ll just have a refreshing summer beverage!

Cheers Wayalife and Happy Friday!

Gin is a great summer drink. I haven't had the orange version yet - great excuse to stop at the booze store tomorrow

I love those wheels...

I loved the way they looked. At the time I had stock axles and 37’s so I wanted factory back spacing and light weight. They ended up being fairly fragile and some people had trouble with cracking. They were 100% aluminum, no steel inserts for the lock rings and they eventually galled and started stripping out. Got some good money for them at the recycler so it all worked out.

You look a lot younger.

Recently became aware of Southern Collective Tequila, this Reposado at 111 proof it makes for a potent and delicious marg! 👍🏼

How is it neat? I’ll need to try that one out. A great tequila can be sipped and is really enjoyable.

I’ve always wanted to do one of the Tequila Tours in Mexico where you go out into the countryside and visit the agave farms but it’s gotten pretty spicy in those areas over the last few years.

we did one of those tours with family several years ago, all I could focus on were the Mexican armed troops at every location we went to, I realized it was the same guys following the tour bus around, never again

Haven't tried it neat. I'm a little puzzled as the Southern Collective Spirit Company website doesn't have any info on this that I could find. They're a whiskey distiller in Nashville, so while the label doesn't say tequila specifically it's called an Reposado Espadin Agave. I've edited my initial post to reflect this. I also don't recall seeing a proof values on bottles of Tequila. What I do know is that makes an awesome margarita. I'm also anxious to try some of their other bottles.

So, for those of you who aren’t from Northern Nevada or just don’t know, the official state drink is now a Picon Punch. Unfortunately, the key ingredient for it, Amer Picon which was made by Torrani is no longer making it. However, a distillery in Reno was able to get the recipe and are now making it again and it’s called Ferino.

Today, at our local grocery store, we were able to find some 👍🏻

That sucks and also, that’s awesome! Hopefully there won’t be any more three-month long droughts! Thanks for sharing this. Need to grab a couple bottles and, perhaps a lesson, next time we’re over.
