The build/re-build of Gruff

New addition to the garage. I've needed one of these for a long time & finally just bought the damn thing. Was only 10 minutes from my house. 2018 Boomer 46D. 400 hours. Not gonna be doing any parades any time soon so this is perfect for me. If I bought one in 2018 this is pretty much what I'd expect it to look like.

Looks like shit. Bring it to me and I'll take it off your hands.

So is this the new Gruff? Can't wait to see you wheel it next time we go.

Doing the brakes on the 17 since one of the front brake pad was making some grinding noises. Since it still had the original brakes on it I figured might as well do all 4 corners. haha, happy fucking 4th of July to me. Started at 9 this morning and just 'finished'. All 4 corners had the caliper pins seized up and immovable - inside pads on all 4 corners were just trashed. Moving along ok, just time consuming until the last corner and of course that pin snapped inside the caliper when I tried to break it free. Then the EZ out snapped even after I heated the piss out of it. Screw it - time for beer

see critters my friend, see critters

So the brakes ended up winning. Even after throwing a new caliper on it I couldn’t get any fluid to bleed so onto the trailer and to the shop it went. Don’t feel bad now. Buddy called asking wtf I did to this thing. Ended up replacing the whole line, pulled both rear axles because the e-brakes were trash, and on and on. Figured while he had it that far apart it was upgrade time. Needed tires anyways. Clayton 2.5” lift, Bilstein shocks, Fuel wheels and 35”Wildpeakes. Looks great & rides better. Mrs Gruff is happy

Looks good. Like those wheels for sure. You know if you used your engine to slow you down the brakes wouldn’t have failed right? This reminds me I need to get mine flushed and filled.

Grass is as off-road as it will get for this jeep.
