This had to happen eventually. They've been chanting death to America and death to Israel for decades. While I agree that we shouldn't pull another Iraq, I also think it's foolish not to take them at their word. I don't think we should take the risk of ignoring them and "not get involved", then to be surprised one day when they launch nukes at the "infidels".
I get it. No more foreign wars. Believe me, as a veteran of the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, it hits home hard knowing we wasted 20 years there, but I stand with the presidents' decision here.
