If we end up in this war then everything we think about our gov't is 100% a facade. Fuck all of these people. Not a damn thing we do matters and yes, time to fortress up.
This is the first time in a long long time that I've been truly worried - All it's gonna take is one last act of defiance from Iran by sending a hypersonic missile at us or one of our bases and it's game over.

I would like to say there is no way Iran can win a war against us so why would they try but on paper there was no way we lost a war in Iraq and Afghanistan and here we are. Hard to not believe there is more deep state behind the scenes at work here.

I’m not concerned about Iran, it’s their backers, Russia and China that I worry about. If we end up in a war with Iran, then it’s going to be a shit show.

Iran has fired multiple missiles at our military, diplomatic, and Intel facilities in Iraq over the last several years. Iraq is under control of Iran (except the north which is partially controlled by Turkey). So that’s already happened.
It’s like Vietnam, we won the direct action part of the war but lost the insurgency portion which eventually drove us out. Killing people is the easy part and we are good at that.
It’s a long complicated story but due to poor Intel, really, really bad decisions by the US civilian leaders (like Bremer), and Iran’s use of EFP’s and IED’s we lost the occupation through a war of attrition. For example: Have you heard of ‘De-Bathification’? The Bath party was Saddams political party model after the National Socialist German Workers Party. (NAZI’s were in Iraq in WW2) It ran Iraq and if you wanted an important job you had to be in it. Most Iraqis were in it because they had to be. Same with the military, all officers had to be in it. Bremer decreed that if you were ever in the Bath party you could not hold any office or military position. That created an instant insurgency. That was such a STUPID move. An entire new military had to be stood up and that’s an huge task. I know this because I was there and saw it with my own eyes.
In AFG similar mistakes were made, like installing Karzai as leader instead of Dostum. Dostum was exactly what that country needed. A iron fisted benevolent dictator but the US State department did not like him and thought he was a civil rights violator.
Dostum is also an ethnic Uzbek and the majority ethnic group in AFG is Pashtun- Karzai is Pashtun. I worked there for years and we all knew it was doomed to fail.
Bottom line in AFG is we should have killed as many bad guys as possible and then left. ‘Nation Building’ was an impossible task- especially there. Research ‘Punitive Expedition’.
Losing in Iraq and AFG is not a deep state conspiracy, it’s deep state incompetence.

Surely you can see from an outsiders perspective, that based on the TRILLIONS of dollars we've spent over the years on defense & intel, to be this good at getting shit completely wrong, it's either overall agency incompetence, or willful allowed ignorance. I say a combination of both which leads to the rabbit hole I currently preside in....
