Yeah, the wood is from the same batch - it oxidizes over time and will eventually turn gray with exposure to the sun. The difference is roughly two weeks between the wood on the shed and the doors

Nice! There must still be some valve or junction which is producing the turbulence and thus the noise. It would be good to identify it. Perhaps replacing that part would remove the source of the noise.

When the solenoid valves feeding the sprinkler heads open & close they cause water hammer. If you install a soft seated check valve before the solenoid valve it'll help absorb the hammer.

Thank you for that tip! I noticed the noisy check valve. I didn’t know I had an option to change that out.
 
Finally fixed this POS. Crank no start after dying on the road while driving. Was getting fuel but no spark. Checked and/or replaced everything around the sun including cam and crank sensors, spark plugs, coil packs, fuses, main relay, immobilizer… probably something else I forgot.

Anyway also found that when hand spinning the crank and looking through the oil cap, the camshaft wasn’t spinning with it. Okay, timing belt mostly likely snapped or skipping time. Popped the cover and found that’s the culprit. Wasn’t thinking of it at first because cranking sounded so normal.

Water pump is also internal so had to be replaced - also did pulleys and serpentine belts (has 2, power steering + AC and alternator + water pump) and valve cover gasket obviously. All buttoned up and honestly as good as new with all these new parts. Took a few months to accumulate the time to get this done but happy to have it back up and running well to give the Jeep a breather once again.

All this means is more Jeep parts sooner! 😎

On the fence. Of course, the whole time working on it and seeing it sit I was like "F this car." and "Why did I buy this POS?" but after driving it again I remembered how much fun it is to drive and how I get almost 30mpg. Plus track days with my friends who have these cars as well were fun too. We'll see.

Edit: In the car's defense, I got ahold of the previous owner and found it was the original timing belt. I'll take it for 150k miles.

It’s the greatest feeling getting a car fixed! I would say keep it and enjoy it for daily driving, saving gas when it’s $8 a gallon 🤦‍♂️ and more parts for the jeep! Speaking of which, no luck on selling your Jeep?

Nobody wants it. Tons of views some phone calls, have lowered the price a ton, even had it appraised at dealers including my own. Can’t justify the difference if I do sell it for what they’ll give me and buy another but yeah, literally 0 offers with thousands of clicks on the apps I have it listed.

Bummed but I have kinda already accepted that I’ll keep and continue building it.
