Finally fixed this POS. Crank no start after dying on the road while driving. Was getting fuel but no spark. Checked and/or replaced everything around the sun including cam and crank sensors, spark plugs, coil packs, fuses, main relay, immobilizer… probably something else I forgot.
Anyway also found that when hand spinning the crank, the camshaft wasn’t spinning with it. Okay, timing belt mostly likely snapped or skipping time. Popped the cover and found that’s the culprit. Wasn’t thinking of it at first because cranking sounded so normal.
Water pump is also internal so had to replaced - also did pulleys and serpentine belts (has 2, power steering + AC and alternator + water pump) and valve cover gasket obviously. All buttoned up and honestly as good as new with all these new parts. Took a few moths to accumulate the time to get this done but happy to have it back up and running well to give the Jeep a breather once again.
All this means is more Jeep parts sooner!
