Larger diameter and thicker axle tubes

First off, Hello y'all!

I wanted to take a min and ask for some opinions regarding 1/2 thick axle tubes as well as 4" diameter.

It seems as though there are always folks looking to build things overly strong. Obviously, it's not always necessary, since increased weight can negatively affect fuel economy, horse power, handling, and costs. But, I don't believe that any of us build our rigs based soley off "practicality"!

I have contemplated the idea of going with thicker walled axle tubes for the added security of impact resistance. 3/8 thick tubes seem to be a common standard when it comes to 60s and above, but there are some manufacturers that offer 1/2" wall tubes in either 3.5" diameter of 4". Obviously, they offer this for a reason. My question is......

How many of you would seriously contemplate 1/2" wall tubes and or 4" diameter with 1/2" wall for a steer axle? The reason for this would be to aid in strength and rigidity (although relatable forces, just not equal) while running bigger tires, heavier rigs, and more horsepower as well as aid in strength resistance to side loading. Feel free to call me crazy, lol.

Currently a JT. Was thinking about running 43's with 14B front and rear. Overkill, I know, but strength without question. Full hydro assist.
Well I know JT given it's in this sub-forum, I meant more like Sport, Overland, Willys, Rubicon etc... But nevermind that's wild lol. Whatever you got and if you've got the cash go for it.
