Among the building on the property, one is a really old shed with half of it made in to a hatchery. I hadn't been in it since we first bought the place but decided to check it out the other day as I've been starting to do more clean up of the property. Anyway, when I tried opening the door, I found that it was difficult being that a bunch of stuff had been pushed up against it. This was odd being that there was no way of getting in from the other side but I was able to force the door open. And, once open, I found the room to be a total wreck and... stank like something had died. Of course, that's when I saw this...

Not sure how but the poor guy got in room and couldn't get out. If I could guess, he tore the place apart trying. From what I could tell, he had been alive for a while eating the mice inside and shit them out but once they ran out, he died. Kind of a bummer.

I've had to clean up dead animals when they're ripe, it's like a mush with the skin separating from the rest of it

Yup, it’s a Great Basin Gophersnake and yes, it was very large. Definitely eating well out here LOL!

Yes, I’ve seen a few and happy to have them being they help keep the mice under control but I have to say, this was the biggest I’ve seen.
