After 1 year of owning the Jeep, I can say I have yet to be pulled over. I did have some old guy (in his 80s) complaining about my tires and fenders at a gas pump once. The Deputy I was talking to at the time basically told him what any of us would have.

Hooked
Thrice...once on the Olympic Peninsula for no mud flaps (no ticket...he was impressed with the Hellcat); then twice on Mercer Island for speeding (35 in a 25 zone)...again, no tickets...they wanted to see the engine both times...I guess it pays to have a big ass engine sometimes

Once so far....Going the speed limit in the fast lane. The highway patrolman went from the slow lane next to me, then behind me and then instructing me with his lights and finger to pull over. I asked him what the deal was and he responded, your seatbelt! He was very passionate about it and I got a $10 ticket. Of course I apologized and he said he had been to 3 different wrecks with families that day. He didn't want me to be a fourth. I saw him a week later when I stopped for an accident right as I was getting off my exit for work. Some woman flipped her car and she was OK and he was the first patrolmen on scene! I looked at him and told him he wrote me a ticket the week before and he responded with "yep I sure did". When I was leaving he had another officer tell me to make sure and buckle up, that I would know what he was talking about. I didn't think it was that funny but the other officer thought it was hilarious! As I pulled away and got off my exit and got to work I realized the one thing I didn't do... Put on my seatbelt. Epic fail! 😕

I got pulled over a couple years ago as I was heading for work. Officer came up and was holding a blanket. Seems I had left it on the rear bumper the night before when I put the top back up. He smiled and said " thought you might want to not lose this" lol

Twice so far. Once in the tj with the doors off for no side mirrors. The cop was cool and didnt write me the other time was in the cj. Here in WV the law states that the tires cant protrude past the fenders. They protrude 9" past the fenders on the cj, and i didnt have a state inspection sticker because noone will pass it because of the tires. Luckily the officer was a jeep guy. I answered some questions about the rig and was sent home with a written warning.

Haha, twice too.
Once in my TJ when I lived in PA.
I had driving/fog lights that had a blue tint. Officer told me that I couldn't run blue lights. I asked him to show me the statute.
He couldn't. Because the law days no flashing or rotating blue light. He let me go "with a warning". I laughed at him.

Second time was in my 09 JK.
It was lifted with 35" tires from the dealership. They never adjusted the speedometer. I was familiar with the calculations to adjust my speed and had already calculated my speed. I passed a slow moving vehicle on a rural road. I never exceeded the speed limit. He couldn't show me on his radar where I exceeded the speed limit, so because I passed a vehicle and he clocked that vehicle at the speed limit I must be speeding. I think he actually clocked me. The guy I passed was doing 15 under the speed limit. That's why I passed him.

I explained it all, he let me go. Told me to slow down. I laughed as I drove away.

Caught the Bug
Once in the TJ. I was leaving for work and just pulled up to the stop sign at the corner. Cars park along the street (ah, apartment living) so you have to inch out to make sure there are no cars coming. The cop was hiding in the alley and pulled me over and claims I didn't come to a complete stop. I stopped and inched out to make sure didn't get creamed. He let me go with a "warning". I think he pulled me over for a different reason but I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Never in the JK, once in the XJ back in 07.

Several times in other cars, and unlike some of you (and my wife), I have never been pulled over and not gotten a ticket, barring one "license plate light is out" where I happened to have a spare in the vehicle and replaced it in front of him. 2 blocks from my house.

Heck, Ive gotten two tickets for the same thing, in the same stop. Must have been horrible, right?

Nope. 2 no lane change signal tickets. First one he says I committed was when there was a wreck in my lane, I apparently signaled to change (into a turn only lane) and went around the wreck and did not signal when I moved back into my lane, and the second time about 2 blocks later for turning into the left lane (right hand turn) instead of the right lane and signalling to move over. The left lane so I could make an immediate turn in to a gas station. Turning on a green light. And I will gladly cop to the second one. I did it, I turned into the left lane. But I still would swear I used my blinker both times going around the wreck. But to be fair, it was probably only one blink.

And this was from a truancy constable, not a traffic cop.

At the school my parents taught at.

ALWAYS A TICKET.

Only once for going 60 in a 45. Didn't get a ticket though because the officer liked the Jeep, and I was polite with him :thumb:

Lmao that's great. I went the same polite route.

Was in the wrong, I'll admit. Dead wrong actually. Pulled a U Turn on a red arrow. I pleaded ignorance because I sure as hell am never admitting guilt. Ended up with a $25 parking ticket. I didn't appreciate when he walked to the front and was hassling me about no front plate. I think that stuff is petty. Had the doors off as well and he's shining his light in every where. Got lucky in the end I guess.

Great stories Eddie, glad they let you go as much as they did.

Only encounter for me so far was the morning after I bought my Jeep.

Pulled up side by side at a red light and the officer motioned for me to roll down my window

He asked me a few questions about the Jeep, complimented me on it, and said have fun with it. :thumb:

I got pulled over by a state cop in Virginia for having my license plate in my window, I even explained to the cop that I was going to drill holes in the new front bumper I had just got but he kept going on about how he couldn't see it in the window ...
Which doesn't make sense considering how did he know it was there before he pulled me over?!!!

Back when I first started this thread, Cindy and I still lived in SoCal I used to get pulled over what seemed like 3-4 times a year and always for the same thing - NO MUD FLAPS! Of course, we moved out to Nevada shortly there after and we haven't had a problem since. Well, last Friday, we made our way back into California to visit Disciple Offroad and with the hopes that they can do some work on our Gladiator. And, just to make the drive more fun, we decided to take back roads all the way down and mainly to experience just how gloriously green everything is right now. Anyway, soon after leaving the town of Jackson, I noticed a CHP behind us and being that Cindy was following me in our Gladiator, I called out on the radio to let her know but of course, she saw him as well. Being that we we were just driving along and doing the speed limit, we didn't give it too much thought but then, all of a sudden, she got lit up.

Needless to say, Cindy pulled over, I let her know I would wait for her up the highway and then continued on my way.

So, why did she get pulled over you might ask? You guessed it - NO MUD FLAPS! Well, that isn't exactly true. 'No mud flaps' was the reason the officer gave Cindy for pulling her over but he then admitted that the real reason was so that he could check out the rig :ROFLMAO:
