Ram 3500 H/O Cummins 4:10 gears Asian Transmission it pulls like a freight train
New tow rig. '20 3500 HD HO Laramie with the Night package. Our Ford gasser was not happy pulling the gooseneck and the Jeep. Pulled the alum horse trailer no problem at all, but every time I went on a wheeling trip, it would throw multiple cylinder misfire codes. Actually picked this up a few weeks back but took it to my buddies garage to go over & have a few things done. New tires too. Fun buying 6. Already has a 100 gallon aux fuel tank in the bed too. These things are like driving a freight train. The torque is unbelievable.
Have to say, if anyone is in the market and looking for a truck, do it. If you're lucky enough to find one, the trade-in values are flat out stupid.
What I got for our '17 was incredible. View attachment 367142 View attachment 367143

Mine has the 4:10's as well as the air bags. I can't wait to tow something. Got great mileage on the way back too - 19.7 doing 75mph.
Yours a Limited?

I saw the light. While perusing youtube, I came across CJC Offroad vids and they showed this damn thing. Boy am I glad I have a Jeep already lifted, because this thing is soooo badass on 37's :love::love:

My tow rig for 10 years. 1986 K30 with a 12 valve Cummins and NV4500. I boxed the frame when I built it. It did great towing the 38' trailer with home built living quarters.

Copy of DCP_3618.JPG

I still have the K30 but I found a 2009 F750 standard cab grapple truck that had been rolled. 6.7 Cummins, 3500 series Allison, and air brakes. Only the cab had been damaged (severely), with no chassis or drivetrain damage. I shortened it, added air ride, a crew cab, and a modified Western Hauler brand bed. I upgraded to a 48' Vintage trailer and swapped the 7kw gasoline generator to a 10kw Onan diesel .

Awesome setup! How do you like the 48’ vintage? I plan on going to a race trailer in a year or two verses my two place gooseneck. If you get a chance, can you measure the clear distance between the wheel wells in the trailer?

I like it better than the previous one with home made LQ. The 7'6" height is much better than the 6'6" of my previous one. I had to haul the buggy with one front tire on the floor and the other over the fender with the added platform. No way a taller rig would fit without installing smaller diameter rollers on it.

My old one did have bigger black, gray, fresh water, and fuel tanks. I added a 2nd 31 gallon gray tank to the Vintage.

There is 82" between the fenders and 79" from the top of the fenders to the ceiling.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Thanks for the info, I’ll need 86.5” to clear so I might have to put skinny’s on it or park it in the front position. I’m going to go with a two place interior with just a bathroom and sleeping quarters up above the goose.
Someday…
