GMC 2500 finally ordered

Well after months of back and forth with the dealership and the on going chip shortage we finally got an order in on a 2022 GMC 2500 Denali with the 6.6L gasser. Pretty dang excited to have a truck again and it will definitely expand our wheeling options being able to tow again. Rough guess on delivery is November but still waiting on a build date. For anyone in the market right now, in my experience if you want any old basic truck you can get it no problem but as soon as you add any technology options GMC at least is holding those chips for the Denali. I guess if they have so little might as well only sell the most expensive thing right :(. But what we were trying to option out on an AT4 was so close in price to the base Denali we just decided to pull the trigger and stop waiting.

6.6 gas is a pretty strong motor. Been surprised with it when guys come in fully loaded for an oil change lol. They just chug along

Congrats on the new truck! It takes a bit of stress off getting to a from the trail and a lot more comfortable as well!

Who would have thought... I'd still opt for the Duramax over any gas motor for a 3/4-1 ton tow pig.
It was a want vs need thing. For the weight and frequency we tow it wasn't worth the initial 10k extra plus the extra maintenance cost. Trust me it was hard to pass up the duramax but the gasser will do everything I need it to do and more

Thanks, yeah some of the bummer with not being able to pick where i live is its currently a 7 hour drive to get to any real wheeling in my area. that coupled with the PRP seats i put in my 2 dr are just not what i had hoped and are really uncomfortable. Having the truck is for more than just towing but now i have no reason to bring either jeep along and have some added peace of mind not having to drive it home haha

Congrats on the new truck. My co-worker but a Chevy with a 6.6 and man that thing is a beast. The truck was used at the Fontana Speedway with only 200 miles on it after a year and even had the Fontana Speedway stickers when he went to look at it. Thought that was kind of cool.

Did you order it with a gooseneck hitch?
no, for the time being i dont plan on running a gooseneck. I would have love to get it loaded with all the options but for the price some things had to give and getting the gooseneck / 5th wheel prep package ended up on the chopping block. Given the price of trailers and the fact that i have to move so often so storage can be a pain its just easier to have a bumper pull for the next 10 years or so

That’s coming up fast! Hopefully your truck does show up by then! I’ll possibly be shopping for a truck in the next few months. Probably going with an F-250 for my new company.

I drove by the Flint assembly plant yesterday where they are built, there are thousands of the HDs just sitting there, waiting… for a chip or part.

a few miles north in the middle of a farm field, there were even more surrounded by flood lights and security guards.

There is a GM plant here and trucks stored around the county. What will they do with all the 2021s with chewed up wiring harnesses? I’d think they are building 2022s now so all the other ones are a model year old now. Are we ever going to wake up and start producing things here or start teaching our kids to speak Chinese? I’m so fucking sick of the past and present “leadership” of our country. Talk about an oxymoron, bunch of greedy bastards.
