How can I make the trunk more usable? Something like a truck bed.
I have a JK Unlimited softtop with spare still mounted on tailgate, so I have to open the tailgate, and then unzip the rear window to make use of the trunk. It's become a hassle.
Added to the hassle is towing. I often tow a small (1,500lb) trailer or a pop-up camper. I cannot make use of the trunk when towing because trailer wheel cranks are right in the way of the tailgate. Just throw everything in the trailer / camper? Yes, done that but strapping down small things is more effort than just throwing it in the trunk. I often end up unhitching just to add/remove things in the trunk, and that's double hassle.
Gladitor? OK I don't have that kind of $$$.
These compact trucklets (Ford Maverick, Hyundai Santa Cruz) are very tempting for their $ and they have a truck bed. But my partner-in-crime likes the Jeep.
Any mods that can be done to make better use of the trunk?
