Had to get a tire fixed today. I bought them from America's Tire and they are open for repairs and new tires. Made my appointment and drove on over. Due to the social distancing their procedure is a little different. Had to call them once I got there and they sent someone out to me. They had me drive it into the bay and I'm currently sitting in my car with it on a jack while they fix it...haha. It's different for sure, but I'm glad they are keeping their employees safe.

That’s awesome! Went to Best Buy over the weekend to pickup my order and they had the same type of system.

See my post above. Clearly the White House projections are not as conservative as those of the IHME.

In any event, while 100,000 deaths is tragic for sure, if we had to send the country into a depression to get to that 100,000 number I would sure like to know, realistically, what the number would have been without sending the country into a depression. Unfortunately, there is no way to arrive at that real number (what could have been) because it is impossible to have a control group.

Do I personally think a depression would be worth it to save 2.2 million lives? Most likely, yes. But, I don't believe the 2.2 million lives lost number is realistic, even in a complete herd immunity response. Do I personally think a depression would be worth it to save 100,000 lives (the difference between the WH's projected 100k and a random 200k that I came up with for discussion purposes), the answer is most likely no.

Would you feel the same way if your wife and kids were part of the 100,000? I know I wouldn’t.

JFC. That is seriously such a weak argument. Policy decisions cannot be made based on individual fears of specific outcomes to those people closest to us.

If your wife or one of your kids died as the result of alcohol (and I sincerely hope they don’t, by the way), would you immediately advocate for prohibition? What about tobacco?

I’d like to say they all need fired but that is the job of the voters and why in the fuck they all keep getting elected time after time just blows me away, people are so fucking ignorant

Exactly. The government is a reflection of our culture. Really sad to watch.

Gonna kick back and watch some Tiger king with my wife. With the several recommendations on here and my father in law pretty much sharing the same opinion we decided we better watch this shit before it's too late.

Safety vs Freedom

I wouldn't wish for anything bad to happen to your family or mine but freedom isn't free from risk.

It would probably feel pretty safe for all to be guaranteed a job, healthcare, housing, and food, but I'm willing to bet freedom for all would be the price. The "safety" many are demanding from our government will come at a hefty price.
