The Building of Compromise

First mod we've done on this thing in awhile. Got some new headlights. JW Speaker had a limited edition pink light for breast cancer awareness. Matt over at Rancho had a set that he had switched out and was nice enough to hook us up with them. They match pretty well, lol. Wow, what a difference in light output over stock.

Not a damn thing going on with this build lately. But my wife's friend was happy that she had onboard air this morning. She sent me this pic this morning.

That's cool. I use mine in parking lots if I see someone with low tires all the time. Funny seeing folks come out and find you filling their tires with air. Gotta be a good Jeep Ambassador right? :thumb: Plus I always hope they pay it forward by returning a favor somewhere. Eh, kinda corny, but what the Hell...

No new mods to this thing but took our first road trip since the re-gear. Awesome! Going through Kansas at 80 miles per hour and even on the headwind hills, it still passed other cars with no issues. It would lose speed before. Very glad to have that done.

And our Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs are down to 4/32s but we still have gotten 40,472 miles on them since we installed them. I don't know that I've ever ran a set of tires this long without wearing out sooner. I rotate them every 3000-5000 miles. We'll definitely get these again, probably this fall.

That’s some very good tread wear! What gears did you go with?

We did 4.88s but we're running 285/70R17. We were running about 2900 rpms at 80mph. We'll be getting 315/70R17 for our next set. That was the plan even when I swapped the gears. I honestly told my wife that these tires would have to be replaced last fall as they wouldn't last through the Winter, yet here we are. Great tires. We're getting the same ones for the Gladiator as well. Zero complaints.
