SPOTTED: Any 4X4 other than a Jeep JK/JL Wrangler

This is an awesome rig used for search and rescue.

We have a sand rail we use for patient transport at the dunes. They actually lay over top of the motor. Can't count how many times we've melted the straps when the fall into the headers.

Helicopters work pretty well...however, I know many are reluctant to call in a chopper unless it's absolutely necessary...I have two good friends that died in separate chopper crashes...

I think its more the cost of the ride in the bird than the crashing. lol

When you have a traumatic brain or spine injury, or bleeding out, I'm calling a chopper regardless of cost...

I just completed a Wilderness First Aid course a short while back...the instructor, who leads various backcountry and serious climbing expeditions, has seen choppers crashing in the mountains in bad conditions in response to an emergency evacuation...he is very reluctant to call in a chopper unless it's absolutely necessary...he's helped carry people out on litters that were not critical so they could be evacuated by boat or vehicle

Definitely a factor. Rocky Mountain National Park up here actually tries to make it known that they will never charge for search and rescue for that exact reason. They don't want anyone to hesitate help over fear of the cost. Sure they've been on stupid calls but it definitely eases the financial fear of people who may need help.

Spotted these two CJ-8s heading north through GA. The red one has a 4BT badge on the tailgate.

Oh yeah if it warrants it we will definitely call I'm a Medivac. Some pilots don't like landing I'm the dunes because the engines can ingest a lot of sand and that's a whole other set of problems. Plus if you don't have help to secure and LZ John Q. Public likes to go where ever they want. We actually have a lighted concrete helipad we use when needed.
