Painted diff cover

Well 2 weeks ago I peeled back my front diff cover and it was leaking so I decided it was time to upgrade. I looked at Riddler, ARB, Poison Spyder, G2 and more. I ended up doing the Poison Spyder Bombshells and after spending 2 days painting I installed the front and rear covers tonight. Thank's to the writeup on installing new diff covers it was pretty simple to do. Paint wise I used Black Engine Block paint and then I found a metallic red that was a chrysler factory color to paint the actual Spider. Taping was a pain but I think it came out pretty good for a guy hacking with some spray paint. now lets see how they hold up on the trails. Spring Creek here I come. I have the same covers for my '14 JKU but didn't add the color, afraid they'll get banged up on the trails so figures why bother. My front trac bar rubs a little on the cover but it's ok, beat not babied right?

I have those covers as well, taping off the spider is a pain in the balls. Still haven't installed my front cover yet because I'm too lazy to paint it. (and I've been painting my sliders) yours came out great though. Love the colors you went with.

It was definitely a pain in the sack to tape them but I would do it again. You won't get the tape lines perfect unless you constantly paint but go slow. I'm sure they'll get jacked on the trail at some point but I figured why not. It's a little mall crawler looking but I do like it. If paint them regardless. The high temp engine paint has a pretty tough finish.

I got inspired by Eddie’s write up Differential Fluid Change so I decided to give it a try and since I already had this Poison Spider Bombshell diff cover laying around I decided to paint it up. IMG_7805.jpg IMG_7807.jpg IMG_7809.jpg IMG_7810.jpg
