Caught the Bug
Bought my white Jeep on trade in for a gorgeous Sarge Green Ecodiesel JLUR about a year ago. I loved my green Jeep but it was having all sorts of problems so after just 6 months I traded it in for my current white Jeep. I could not be happier with this Jeep, came stock with 35’s and a factory 1.5” lift.
I first replaced the front plastic bumper with an aluminum Rockhard4x4 mid length bumper and I LOVE it! At the same time I added a Warn Evo 8S winch up front. I also added differential protection right away, Purple Cranium diff guards up front and in back (have on the rear diff of my Powerwagon also). I also have a rear hitch skid plate on to protect the spare tire and rear plastic bumper (to a degree).
Then I wheeled it all over the Southern California desert for a few months, then did a 5 day southern Utah and Moab trip. After lots of scraping I installed some underbody protection. ASFIR aluminum engine and transmission skid and MORE aluminum t-case skid. With skids on I decided to add fifteen52 traverse bronze wheels (4.75” BS) and 37” KM3’s to get that extra inch of diff clearance!
The last thing I added was a couple KC lights installed on the front bumper. Right now they are just for looks because I haven’t hooked up the electrical harness yet…. I know it’s easy but my electrical skills are lacking and I just haven’t gotten to it yet. They look cool though 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I may add a real lift at some point but I’ll wheel it like this for a while. I’ll add upgraded steering and ball joints when the lift happens. For now I absolutely LOVE the look and performance. Packed up the Jeep and me and the wife headed from Colorado to our winter home in the Southern California desert! On big bumps I bottomed out the rear suspension with the Jeep full of stuff. I have heard people with Xtreme recon and steel bumpers bottoming out easily and now I see why! Luckily most of my wheelin is day trips and I don’t weight it down with too much gear that I’ve had a problem bottoming out. That said I may think about adding a lift sooner than later….

I had my rear 37" tires rubbing constantly with a 2" spacer lift if I added any cargo or passengers, 3.5" Evo coils fixed the issue. Even with packing tools and camping gear I rarely rubbed or bottomed.
