New addition to the Family 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk

Here it is, one of the first Trailhawks off the 2016 line. We ordered it Memorial day, but just picked it up on Sept. 1st. We ordered it right at the model year change over. There isn't anything new from 2015, but some of the options from last year are standard now. Like the hood decal and...

Black factory hardtop from a 2013 JKU.

I am selling my black factory hardtop for $2000. Or best offer. PM me for details. Pick up only. It's hanging in the garage. Has a few brush marks, but nothing a little touch up paint can't fix.

    Bestop Trek Top NX

Just put my Trek Top NX on today. I already like it better than my hard top. Living in Orange County CA, it doesn't get cold enough to need a hard top. I miss having a soft top like my other Wranglers. I like being able to take the sides and back off at work when the weather is nice, without...

A few pictures from the Mojave Road

We did the first half of the Mojave Road on April 24 and 25. We were planning a 3 day but right when we hit the first paved road that crosses the Preserve, it started to rain and hail. Then the wind hit 40 mph and the sand started to blow. So, we decided it wasn't going to be a fun night of...

    Mojave Road Part 1

We took off before the sun on Friday April 24th for 3 days and 2 nights of offroading and camping across the Mojave Preserve. It was a windy night at the first camp site but still a good time with cigars, whiskey and steaks. We used out Jeeps as wind breaks for out tents. The next day we...

    White Knuckle Off Road Rails

I've looked for these rails for over a year and a half. I needed a step for my 5'1" wife and young daughters. I wanted it made of 3/16" DOM steel tubing, and I wanted it welded on. These are the only ones I found at a price below $500. And they are tough! I noticed almost all aftermarket...

OC to West end of the Mojave Road Nov. 1st

Hello everyone, I'm planning a little day trip out to the west end of the Mojave Rd. area. Starting 30 Miles East of Barstow if anyone is interested in tagging along. This is a scouting trip for the full 140 miles from Laughlin NV to Barstow next Spring. It's mostly a sight seeing tour...

    Teraflex 1.5" leveling limit

That's one of the main reasons I went with the Teraflex 2" leveling kit. It required nothing but the install of the spacers, and the longer front swaybar links. I don't plan on going any bigger than 33"s and I prefer tall narrow tires to wide tires so no spacers needed here. And an AEV ProCal...

Carrizo Mountain Area East of San Diego

Had a great trip in the Carrizo Mountain area with some awesome Wrangler drivers. Old stage coach line roads, mining areas and washes cover this whole area. And rocks; big ass, loose, round rocks and loose sand to go with it. It was more of a goat trail than a road most of the time. Not to...

Made My Teraflext Sway bar links into quick diconnects $50

I installed a Teraflex 2" leveling kit in my 2013 JKU Sport. It came with long sway bar links. I just purchased the Teraflex quick disconnect bolts (Part number QD4 on their website; $50 with shipping.) for the lower part of the link. The bolt attaches to the axle. I have some notes that I would...

What was done to your rig this week?

Since it was so hot over the holiday weekend, I pulled all of the factory decals and badges off of my Jeep. I didn't even need a heat gun, just pulled up a corner and pulled really slow. Cleaned it up with Goof Off.

Water pump squeak at idle and low speed

I just got my 2013 JK back from the dealer service department. I was having a problem when I was idling there was an intermitent squeak in the lower front part of my engine. Thanks to a couple threads on this topic I knew it was the water pump. This really sucked when I was Jeeping around the...

    Better than coffee

Drove into work today with just the bikini top on and no doors for the first time. Going down the I-5 at 70 miles an hour with no doors or complete top, is better than coffee for waking you up.

    I love being topless

It's been about 10 years since I was in a Wrangler with the top off. I lost my 99 TJ in a bankruptcy; after all the 9/11 events, a lot of aerospace industries went belly up so I got laid off. Anyway, got the 2013 Commando Green JKU Sport, took off the top yesterday and loved the great 70...

Pulled the Hardtop off using ratching tie down straps

I used a tie down strap method I saw on a forum. Worked pretty well. Blue straps marked up the white inside a little. Eugene looks good topless. After I get a motorcycle mirror and a bigger torx bit I'm take the doors off.

    Sunday Solo Run

I usually don't go out on my own, however the Main Divide Road of the Santa Ana Mountains is a pretty well traveled truck trail. My usual co-pilot was out of town. 23 miles in 3.5 hours. Here are a few pics: Main Divide Road from Ortega Hwy close to Lake Elsinor. That is the road I just...

    Hello from sunny Southern CA

I'm 5000 miles into a new 2013 JKU in Commando Green. It's my 4th Jeep and my 2nd Wrangler. (had a '99 TJ) So far it's the best vehical I've ever owned. Here is a picture of Eugene on top of the Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County.
