Who else got a new Gladiator ?

I took delivery of my 2023 Punk'n turbo diesel Sport S Gladiator with the HD towing package (6,500 lbs. for the diesel) last Friday on Ground Hog Day. The factory sticker was $64,450 without any add on dealer BS. I paid $60,289.80 plus a $24.00 out-of-state (Oregon) title fee less a $9,667.50...

VIDEO : Stand in 3 Places at the Same Time

Hey, great video. You might remember me as the NW Moderator from the JK Forum Days and the "Scream" video. I still have my timber operation in Oregon, but live in Laughlin, NV. Off Road Evolution is just a few miles away in FT. Mojave/Bullhead City, AZ. To get there, I have to cross the...

what is your trailer ? camp trailer , teardrop , travel trailer or ????????

Homemade Teardrop on Harbor Freight frame Works well for the roughly $1,200 invested. Light enough I don't have to license it in Oregon. Future plans are to substitute a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern axle and use my MJ/Comanche takeoff wheel/tires for a little more clearance.

    Which ARB compressor ?

I had to buy a different mount when I changed from the single to a double. Both mount on the driver's side under the hood of my JK. However, I was able to re-use the JK single mount on my Comanche by tapping some holes near the battery tray when I added ARB lockers (and bought another single)...

    Which ARB compressor ?

I tend to agree... However, my first ARB compressor (single) failed after a few years of airing up 37s and I replaced it with a double. So far, so good. I also use it to air up tractor and truck tires around the farm and the occasional air mattress when campling. Probably less than two...

What was done to your rig this week?

Installed Savvy JK Half doors This was a fairly easy install. The person who painted and assembled the doors took quite a few pictures of the process and I can post them or take more detailed shots if there is any interest. The only hitch was that the cables for opening the rear door...

    Conversion/Cargo Van Camper Setups

2016 Ford Transit High Roof Extended Body I bought this a couple of months ago to convert into a stealth camper and tow rig. The full sized Transit are RWD and have plenty of power. Mine is a 3/4 ton and rated to tow 9100 lbs. which should handle my car trailer and either the Comanche or JK...

What was done to your rig this week?

Took the Canopy off, maybe for good This Saturday was the closest thing to a Spring day I'd seen all Winter, so I pulled the MJ/Comanche in the shop and with the help of some neighbors, removed the canopy. Then I drove to the farm and spent the rest of the day doing chores. I think I like...

    Jeep Rentals in Hawaii

Hi, My wife is leaving tomorrow for a 10 day painting seminar and wild woman who-ha on the Big Island and told me at the last minute that she wants to rent a Jeep. Does anyone have some Hawaii Jeep Rental experiences or recommendations to share? Thanks, -mel

Towing your Jeep vs. Driving it

Used to Trailer my Jeeps, now I don't so much When I bought my JKU in 2008, I already had a Dodge 2500 and trailer that I used mostly for taking my race car to the drag strip (after you make certain modifications, driving to the track isn't an option anymore), so I started out trailering the...

Aerial Spy Shots of the all NEW Jeep JT Wrangler Pickup Truck

Actually, I'd like a step-side ... Ram. There isn't much president for a Jeep step side since at least the 70s. Until we know for sure, I'll just keep driving my JK and Comanche.

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

Phase 2.1 OR-Fab XJ Front Winch Bumper A few years before I bought this MJ/Comanche, I won a set of OR-Fab tube doors for my JK and purchased their JK rear bumper with spare tire carrier. I was very satisfied with those JK products and the support I received. There are quite a few choices for...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

Phase 1.2 Prime and Paint When we were satisfied with the body work and accessory prep, it was time to mask, prime and paint. Our shop is heated by ceiling mounted forced air natural gas, so in order to reach an optimal heat and humidity without blowing the place up, we experimented with...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

Phase 1.1 Body Modifications After I scored the Metric Ton D44 rear axle assembly that would eventually replace the stock D35, I had to think about what aftermarket accessories should be ordered and what other body modifications were needed before re-painting the Comanche. From various...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

Phase 1.0 Rust Repair and Body Work No matter what the Comanche would look like when the build was completed, rust and body repair was the obvious starting point. While I cleaned, chemically stripped and treated the floorpans with POR-15, a friend of mine from the Jeep Club started on the...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

The Build Plan Our plan was to do the build in three stages: Rust repair, Body work and Re-paint Add Armor, Winch, Auxiliary lighting and Accessories SOA lift with Long Arm front suspension, compressor, lockers, regearing with new tires and wheels When the word got out that I wanted to...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

Initial Assessment and the Beginning of a Plan After getting the Comanche Home, I checked it out with some friends from my local Jeep club. The MJ appeared to be completely stock and unmolested with a lot of miles, but what receipts I found indicated that it had been cared for and serviced...

Metric Blue 89 MJ Comanche Build

I bought this 1989 Jeep MJ Comanche off a sketchy Salem, OR used car lot in 2011 for $1,400. It's main attractions were that it was reasonably straight, not too rusty, seemed to run OK, and I was regretting passing up a $2,000 package deal on a pair of Comanches (an 88 Olympic 4WD and a red 2WD...
