If you act like this based on a "feeling" of being threatened, rather than "actually" being threatened, then you are likely to go to jail. If there is clearly actual threat then there will be more support for you.

In my experience, tire choice can make a big difference to the feeling of stability in a CJ. Tires which feel soft and mooshy provide less support than well structured tires with a firmer edge.
