RETIREMENT ROAD TOUR #2

It’s been a great time and I like the ‘Camp Atmosphere’ of Camp Curry. My more delicate wife is not quite as enamored with it, but for the activities one does here it fits perfectly. Good times!
Haha well good thing you got the tent with the heater. If not Tracie could need some more whiskey to warm her up lol 😂 either way it’s a fun experience that I’m glad you both got to try!! Next up is going back in February for firefall.

After Harmony Borax Works we drove by Furnace Creek on the way to Badwater, however the road to Badwater was also closed due to flood damage. We went instead to Shoshone.

Definitely check out the Shoshone Museum.

Inside the museum there were multiple historical displays and they also sold some really cool books and maps related to the local area.

Then there was this. Being a total fan boy of the SR-71 I found this very interesting.

The primary purpose of Area-51 is to test advanced aircraft and because of that there are several SR-71 crash sites in and near Nevada and one of those crashes happened at Shoshone.

Recovered debris and a log of the final communications between the SR-71 and ATC.

However no alien 👽 bodies. 😞 🤣
