Whiskey of the Day

Speaking of insanity, have you seen the new Wild Turkey Master’s Keep?
Some of the masters keep bottles in the past were so good. So much so I only drink them on Thanksgiving to save and enjoy them a bit longer.
Haven’t really paid much attention to getting anything new in a few years. What’s the new masters keep all about this year?

It’s the Beacon and apparently is amazing and being compared with Russels 13+ year. It’s pretty damn expensive though.

I've never been a fan of regular wild turkey but I seen this at the Costco liquor store, 17 year old stuff.
Does it taste the same as they stuff they put out.... what ....every month LOL

Have you had Rare Breed? Their good stuff is better than the regular 101. 101 is good for cocktails.

Man. Run of the mill turkey is pretty dang good. lol
So I may not be the best to give recommendations on it. I already dig their flavor profile. But if you can find a “decades” masters keep. It’s a buy all day long.
👍

And I’ll echo Mike. I
Love rare breed and the Russel’s reserve single barrels are hard to beat as well.

Not sure I’ve seen others post up on New Riff. Life has been crazy busy this summer. Part of that included a return trip to AZ for the start of my son’s senior year at ASU. And with that included another stop at Trevor’s for supplies for the kid an me. Picked up this bottle of single barrel store pick.

The story as told told during a tasting. The owner of New Riff is a successful bar owner back east. Got bored and wanted to distill. With a unique perspective, he hired a well known brewmaster to make his whiskey.

I was surprised by my taste buds. A nice warm 118 proof single barrel. What makes this even better on the palette? It has about 30% German rye. Those nice maple notes come through and enough to make this very drinkable.

The ladies had a crown and coke.
