Has any one trimmed up their factory front plastic inner fenders to work with the front Evo DTD? What are the pros and cons to running with or with out inner fenders? I have some concerns with a lot of the electrical components being open to the elements. What are your thoughts?

Looking to see what seems to work best in Arizona deseart/rocky conditions? I have been running KM2's and airing down to 12 psi and they are chunking really bad. Just got a new set if 37" Trail Grapplers that are on Slabs.
