Catalytic Converter Recommendations for 2008 JKU - Code 420

Yes it was a direct fit. I also cut the converters off of the old Y pipe and sold them at the scrap yard. The brick was collapsed on the passenger front cat but they took it anyway.

Catalytic Converter Recommendations for 2008 JKU - Code 420

I used an eBay complete Y pipe assembly. It worked great but probably only put 7k miles on it before the LS swap. I put chep eBay cats on the exhaust that I fabricated for the LS swap also. They have over 10k miles on them now. They can't last as long as an OEM cat but I decided to gamble...

    JK/JKU Frame Swap

I swapped mine because it was bent and paid $600 for a good used one from a salvage yard. It is much easier and safer to remove the body with a 2 post lift than rigging up jacks and tall stands. Also look at your front body apron horns behind the radiator support area. I have seen those rust...

    JKU on Tons

I have been daily driving it for several months and finally fixed the last problem. My steering gear had a partial internal blockage probably from a piece of Teflon lining of the failed original PS hose. Stock pumps were getting hot and screaming. I replaced the steering box with a Lares 11334...

    Hydro locked 3.8

One bent rod on my buggy LS engine completely locked it like that. It was oil instead of water but same results. I could have easily replaced the rod and piston for that cylinder because it didn't damage the crank.

Air Compressors - On Board or Not

Not much room under the hood since the LS conversion. I installed a ARB single under the passenger seat for the lockers and also got the inflator kit.

    Salvage title jk value?

I have bought and built several salvage vehicles over the years. I build them myself and keep them for personal use for several years before selling. I could not come out ahead on one if I had to pay someone to repair it. I have never had a problem getting one insured in Tennessee.

    AEV Geometry Correction Brackets

I added the correction brackets to the front and noticed some improvement in highway manners. I then added DB3 rear correction brackets and they also helped. The DB3 brackets are welded and much better quality but still hang low. If I was going to rock crawl my JKU, I would definitely not run...

    392 problems

The alternator failed on my son's Powerwagon. It was screaming loudly and was very hot but it didn't damage anything else. Hopefully it didn't on yours.

    Why Ram

My son ordered a 2023 TRX in mid October and it still is not on the build schedule. The manufacturer that I worked for would hold the first of production of a new model year for a certain amount of time before releasing in case there are any issues.

Dodge 'LAST CALL' Challenger & Charger Pricing Relased

My son has a 23 TRX on order and I will get first dibs if he ever decides to sell it. Should be a lot peppier than the 4cyl Altima that he has been driving for years.

Dodge 'LAST CALL' Challenger & Charger Pricing Relased

They are supposedly building the TRX at least through 2024.

    JKU on Tons

I am going to try to adapt a stock 3.6 JK air cleaner. I am not a big fan of the oiled cotton air filters like it has now.

    JKU on Tons

I got the 392 cooling fan installed and that thing can move some air. I added a terminal to the GM ECM connector for PWM control and used an 80 amp circuit breaker. I have also been doing some transmission tuning with HP Tuners and have it dialed in like I want. The only things left to do are an...

    Radiator fan not working!

My fan electrical connector had a terminal that went bad. I cleaned it and tightened the female end and that fixed it for a couple of weeks. It was starting to melt the plastic around the terminal.
