I am not even sure what we are arguing about… we both agree NG/ICE pollute and contribute to poor air quality, therefore less would improve air quality - that’s not Fauci science.
And again, you obviously don’t know anyone in AZ in the construction business, because you have zero idea what...
Coal power is not made any where near Maricopa county and if you know about natural gas plants, they are not base load power - meaning they only ramp up for demand power, typically in the afternoon of summer months when energy is critical for cool air in houses. Most of the time, outside of peak...
You are correct, we should be incentivizing clean (hopefully nuclear power) to support the grid. And manufacturing of anything will produce a byproduct, so the argument is neutral there.
.
And your understanding on the energy in AZ is true to a point, it really doesn’t explain the brown could over phx. Coal and Nat Gas is not primarily generated in the valley. SO our energy sector does not contribute to our air quality in valley.
LOL, you’ve never done construction in Maricopa - Dust will shut a job site down - this is fact. Anyone in construction in the valley can attest to this.
And please, tell me how less emissions will NOT improve air quality? That’s like saying me farting less in the house will not help my...
I agree with perspective and will always appreciate those with more experience and historical reference. I would ask that why can’t things BE better? And why are things better now?
My response to construction was purely related to dust control in PHX/Maricopa, which is more regulated more than I’ve seen in any other sector of business. Who’s ever done construction in Maricopa County would understand that comment.
I’m closing in on 40, so not that young, I don’t think we’ve ever had smog alerts in PHX, we have tons of air quality warnings (almost daily) due to all the commuting - during the height of the pandemic these were few and far in between because of the lack of people commuting in PHX. But you are...
I just like the fact the there are options for people to choose from and it’s nice to see private companies are making those options available on there own. I don’t see the issue with that, matter fact it’s private sector making their own decisions which is pretty darn free to me. I’m sure...
Well… I’m not super old, not super young either. But I will say I sure as heck don’t want to be anywhere near that, so I’d hope we would do something to curtail that. Even with all the EVs CA has some of the worst air quality, it’s because of the transportation sector - ICE cars/trucks.
There will always be a waste to some form of energy. I love nuclear, but there’s waste to deal with - which can be recycled/reused (France does it). Batteries can too, and slowly companies are figuring this out. With ICE, the waste is breathed in - visit Phoenix and you’ll see and know. I...
