We bought our first HDTV (a Mitsubishi 65" DLP 720P rear projection model) in the year 2000 for about $16k.

It was 2002 for me. A 65" Sony rear projection HDTV (1080) that was enormous and weighed a ton. At the time, it cost just shy of $5000.

Remember the price lol? We just bought a tv for our game room for 250 bucks and it's nicer than the bigass shit back then. Nuts.

I bought my first "big screen" back in 2011 - it was a 42" Plasma and it was $1400. I just got a 54" last fall and it was under $300.

Hard to justify maintaining a home you only spend four months of the year in…and most likely wont spend much of the summer in Henderson...
