I’m sure this will make all the MSM headlines… NOT

Since this happened within 30 minutes of my house, it's headline news on every source.

Yes, we have a "Stand Your Ground" law which includes protecting the lives of those around you. We are also now a "Constitutional Carry" State, as in if you are LEGALLY allowed to possess a firearm, you need no permit or license to carry.

The mall this happened in has a strict "No Weapons" policy, posted in several places in the mall. Be interesting to see if they pursue a trespass warrant against the young man that dropped the shooter. Like they have against every person they've ever outed for carrying on their property.

Indiana is not a State to fuck around in with firearms, odds are 1 in 7 of the people around you are legally carrying. We're not Texas, but we do shoot back.

This mall should really re-consider the 'no weapons' policy. They should be very thankful that there was someone present that stopped the threat regardless of the mall's 'policy.' If a good guy with a gun hadn't have been there, it likely would have been much worse.

The Indianapolis metropolitan area is just like Chicago, St. Louis, Los Angeles...... They care more about the criminals rights than the lives of the population.

The shooter didn’t give a rats ass about the malls no gun policy . Bottom line a good guy with a gun shot a bad guy with a gun end of story

From what I read they have been very vocal about their appreciation for him and rightfully so. I hope that leads them to change the policy. Stuff like this happens all the time but it is never publicized.

The USCCA said in Indiana the signs represent the wishes of the owner but are not the Law… if someone sees you with a gun, asks you to leave and you don’t.. you can be cited. That’s good news.

Indiana has a list of "Gun Free Zones" listed in their firearms statutes. Shopping mall is not on the list. BUT, when on private property, carry is at the property owners discretion. The signs hold no power, but if an owners representative asks you to remove a firearm from the property and you don't comply, they can swear a trespass warrant against you. This particular mall is famous locally for it. The articles that say the owners are appreciative of what this young man did, also stress there are signs stating no guns allowed. Passive aggressive.

Man I wouldn't be surprised if Indiana has TX beat by a fair margin. I was born and lived there for 40 years. Even used to be proud of it. I'm never going back. TX is all pro and no go. It'll be just like CA in a decade.

OTOH, Wyoming... that is one interesting place. Got my first CC permit 25 years ago (before "constitutional" carry was really a thing), and long range shooting is my hobby... but a lot of those people make me nervous. 😲
