What's your view like at work?

Nice day yesterday. My view changes pretty often but I seem to be at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago whenever it’s nice out

In the midst of all the insulation, I found a newspaper dating back to December 11, 1958
It is cool to see that bacon used to cost 49 cents a pound!

That’s like $4.30, now. In 1958, the base MSRP for a CJ-5, was $1734.00. A 1958 Corvette had an MSRP of $3,631.00. A Cadillac Coupe Deville convertible listed for $5,251.00. The average income in the U.S. was $3,700.00.

Wow. How the purchasing power of the US Dollar has declined. Crazy.

What’s crazy, is what we take for granted. My dad bought his first television around 1965, and it was used. That’s also around the time he had his first air conditioning in his home, and vehicle. In 1958, I’m pretty sure my grandparents still had a party line (shared line) telephone.

Sorry for the thread derailment.
