Heard a strange knocking sound that was getting Ripley worked up and after peeking out the window to see what it was, this is what we saw...
Yup, a Northern Flicker was pecking out a knot in the wood siding our old garage.

The garage is still useable and we do so, I patched up the hole with a piece of tin. But, I have a feeling this guy will just find another knot to peck out LOL

Loved cleaning up old weeds and yard debris this way. Sure beats bagging it and hauling it off. I guess I could have done what the shitbags do and dump it in the desert.

So, as a quick fix to the hole the woodpecker made in our old garage, I cut and screwed in a piece of tin from an old private property sign and that put a stop to him. Or, so I thought. Today, I see that the damn bird just moved over to the knot next to the one he was working on

We have a Woodpecker in the neighborhood that keeps destroying the street lighting on one of the poles. The utility company finally got tired of repairng it. They enclosed the top of the pole.
