Hey Pa - where's the engine?! As some of you may have seen in the news a few months back, there's a new company called Bollinger Customs and they are responsible for manufacturing a new and unique, electric 4WD SUV. One of the coolest features about it is that there's no motor under the hood. Check it out.

It looks like the design engineers skipped past CAD and went straight to MS Paint to draw this thing. Seriously, not one curve in that sheetmetal at all?

Would the torque gains from the electric motors even gain you much over a modern dino burner. Seems like the weight of batteries and to much usable torque would be a drive train killer.

I remember seeing a story about this a while ago, and I still love the looks of it.

LR made a couple prototype Defenders in electric about two years ago for a Safari outfit in Africa...the idea was to not disturb the animals during a tour...

This is the future...maybe not in our lifetimes, but it is coming...I laughed at Prius's when they came out...now my wife drives a Tesla...eventually the technology will allow for a great off road vehicle...

I saw a few of their vids - 120-200 mile range, 6000# tow capacity.

wonder how far much range it would have with a sound system and a few extra lights?

I don't see an A/C on the spec list.

would like to see in action on some trails. The off-road vid they made ... driving around trees and getting a tire on a log and rock - I used to do that in a VW beetle I owned lol

the future is getting closer!

It’s exciting to see the electric drivetrain get extended to the off road applications. I hope this first iteration is successful, if only to encourage more competition and innovation.

I agree completely Ed. As much as I cant stand all the Prius running around here, electric cars are the future. I think Tesla is about the only one I would drive, as they see to have the best solution when it comes to range and practicality in a daily driver.
This particular rig though, Ill pass.
