Whats on your walls? Art/photography

I was looking at some of the phone screen pics in the other thread, and posting up mine made me look at them a bit more than I usually do.

Mine are photos by a guy named Ian Ruhter, and as I sit on my couch I have a couple of his photos hanging in the living room with me (along with some of my wifes). Made me wonder what some of you guys have/like.

First up, the guy: Ian Ruhter.

This is the video that I first saw, and started paying attention:

I really started looking, and decided to pick up a print from the Silver and Light collection.

There are more videos, and he is doing some great stuff as time goes on.

Wife and I started paying attention to him, and she fell in love with this pic, so it was the second, in 18x24":



Of course, he has also been getting more popular, so prices are going up, which sucks.

We have a few traditional prints from famous people, but those mean very little to me. They are decorations, these photo prints were truly something we wanted to hang in our house.


I am also fond of photos from Sterling Lorence, but his shots are sports related, and not really things I would hang in the house.

So all that to ask, whats on your walls, what are some of your favorite prints/art work/artists that you want to share?

Here are a couple of my favorites

Bad picture, wonderful art! Gary is a personal friend and amazing artist and teacher at Otis. I own one of these pieces.

Oh, I like this post. Most of the stuff on my walls are pictures I have taken. Here are some of them (weird angles to minimize glare):


This is some family owned land in Southern CO


This is the lake above Chinns Lake, the name escapes me


I saw a picture almost identical to this at IKEA, decided I could make one on my own.


This series is not necessarily my favorite, but the wife wanted it so.. Its taken just down the road from Castle Pines golf course.


My personal favorite, taken on the early trail to Chinns Lake/Fall River Reservoir


And the last one is the cabin my grandfather was born in, still standing on the land he currently lives on in Northern MI.

Then there are these two, taken by an artist named Donna. Her full name is on the back of the ginormous horse pic which I cant take down by myself. We met her at the Taste of Colorado last year and when we walked by her booth, I knew immediately the wife was not going to walk away empty handed. It was a very heavy walk home.



She insisted this was not photoshopped in the clouds, so I had to have it..

Very nice photos, Boardsurfer, and that cloud picture is pretty cool. Sucks that you now really have to wonder about photoshop, cause nature is beautiful anyways.

Gary Geraths has an interesting style, and kind of reminds me of some stuff my grandma has done in the past.

The pictures were taken by my daughter where we live in Oahu, Hawaii called "Stairway to Heaven " the second photo shows the art that I love to hang on my walls but like to interact if you will with my art!

Found this one in Banff on a a family a vacation the year we moved into our current home....artist is Stephen Lyman titled Wilderness Welcome. It fits well with the themes of family/friends and travel/cottage life spread through the house.....
