What Would You Do??

I know this has nothing to do with jeeps but I'm pretty upset and wanted a second opinion. I have a pit bull and no airlines will fly her so we had to leave her home during Christmas vacation.

I paid one of my friends to watch her while I was gone. 50% before and 50% after the fact since we have been screwed over before. I came home tonight after being gone for two weeks and our $1500 sofa was covered in dog pee. This isn't something she usually does, ever.

Should I just not pay the dude? Should I ask for my money back?

Or maybe, since the dog is still alive, let him keep the half and use the other half for sofa repairs

Just ask her or him what happened, maybe your dog miss you guys, pit bulls love their owners, so they have strong anxieties that happened to me with my black PIT long time ago, if that's the case you just pay her( him ) the other half.

If this is not the case and your dog does not have anxieties, don't pay the other half.

He sounds like a good "friend" to first accept your $1500 and second let the dog piss all over your house.

Save your money and find new friends.

She's made it longer periods of time without ever acting out. That and she has also been whining and peeing every five minutes since I have been back like she has a bladder infection.

Definitely not paying this dude. Now hopefully my buddies Kirby can help undo some of the damage. Concentrated dog pee is some pretty nasty stuff though.

Wow yea don't pay him/her, lol yea trust me I know, my dog pee in my sofa too ahhaha

Dogs get pissed over their owners being gone. Ours usually are really good. However they do act out on occasion. It's a dog, shit happens or piss in this case.

It's not something I would personally blame on the dog sitter.

Yup yup agree, but still the dog sitter has to watch the pooch, and make sure stuff like this happen.

You can't watch them 24/7. Ours carried bunnys into the house. Then proceeded to rip them apart. Did I blame the sitter? Sure did, but shit happens. I still paid him. It's not worth hurt feelings over a couple bucks.

Just don't use him or her again

For some reason the fact that your dogs went parkour on some bunnies really put me in a Better mood. I'll bet that was a shit mess to clean up though.

I was at Moab EJS for the week. We came home to bleached white circles on our tan carpet. Needless to say, we put new floors in.

If the dog is acting like it has a bladder infection & peeing every 5min perhaps there is something wrong with the dog. If so it may have absolutely nothing to do with the sitter.

Some dogs get separation anxiety. We try to plan our vacation with our dog. Although it also sounds like your "friend" might not have let your dog out often and did not spend anytime with it or walked it. Your dog might have gotten bored and resorted to chewing the couch. We walk our dog two to three hours a day. Lose the dickheaded friend. Start looking for reputable pet sitters or one that boards them and walks them as well. I would walk the facility and check it out. You'll pay a little more but it's worth it.:thumb:

I agree in other post...might have to take her to vet due to bladder infection.

Yeah. Dudes definitely on my a shit list now. He was supposed to be staying at the house with her and I guess decided he just didn't want to. I guess he can get used to me being an ass to him because I also happen to be his boss. Not the best way to go about burning his bridges.
