While ball joints are designed to last a long time on a Jeep JL Wrangler or JT Gladiator, running big tires mounted on wheels with a lot less back spacing will cause them to wear out prematurely. Of course, this is especially true with factory ball joints as they have internal components that are made out of plastic and when they do wear out, they can cause loose steering, poor handling or worse, death wobble. Fortunately, replacing ball joints isn't that hard to do and as luck would have it, Synergy now makes heavy duty replacement joints that are greaseable and feature a 100% metal on metal design. In other words, they'll offer a much greater service life and at a price that isn't too cost prohibitive. In this video, I'll show you just how easy it is to change out your ball joints and for the most part, with just a basic set of tools.

A BIG THANKS needs to go out to Synergy for sending these us these ball joints for the purposes of testing and review.

You make it look easy! Great detailed video on how to do that PITA chore.

I will say adding a little Michigan salt makes it a bit more fun. I love how clean your Jeeps Stay out in the desert

Can't wait to watch this. Hopefully they've made it so they break in during the 500 mule break in period. Mine on my JK felt sticky for around 1200-1500 miles. Wheels wouldn't self center and it tracked horribly. So much so I didn't let anyone drive it but me until they finally broke in and loosened up.

Honestly, this would have been a hell of a lot harder to do if we didn't live in Nevada.

So, the install is a bit different on the JL/JT being that there is a tapered sleeve. So long as you don't jam that thing in, the steering feel after the install isn't bad at all.

Great video! I have never swapped ball joints out before, however I feel confident that I could do it now with the help of the video. I definitely need to pick up a couple of the tools from the list provided.

Great video. I was wondering how these ball joints compared to the JK. Actually looks slightly easier to me on the JL from what I can see in your video. Badass design by Synergy by recessing the grease fittings. Brilliant.

Thanks! So far, I've been really happy with how easy they were to install and how they feel. Like others, I was concerned they would feel tight but so far, I can't say that I feel much of a difference. The grease fittings are well thought out too.
