A week ago today, Cindy and I got an invitation from our good friend Mel Wade, owner of EVO Manufacturing and it was to come down to his place in Bullhead City, AZ, and do some wheeling. While this in and of itself would be nothing out of the ordinary, the specific reason for hooking up was. As some of you may know, he was in possession of Sandstorm, the awesome, Baja inspired Jeep concept build that was debuted at the 2018 Moab Easter Jeep Safari and he was charged with the task of doing some shock tuning. Needless to say, he didn't have to ask us twice and so we packed up our JL and made the long drive south. Here are a few pics from our recent trip.
Being that we would be driving through Vegas, we decided to use the opportunity to take Moby down to Motech for a few new upgrades. Here's a shot of both he and Jet taking a break out in the vast Nevada desert.
Having gotten a late start, we decided to make a stop at our home away from home to help break up the drive. CHEERS!
Saying goodbye to Moby and looking forward to him having a new and bigger radiator and Camaro fan installed.
Ah, sunsets in the scorching heat of the Arizona desert.
The following morning, we met up with Mel and his family out at their place.
And there it is - Sandstorm and parked right next to EVO 1. So much want!
Mel brought out a professional photographer to document the occasion and so we started the day off with a photo shoot. Here are a few shots that we got while Sandstorm was being posed.
Time to rip things up a bit!
Little Mel joining in on the fun with EVO 1.
A gathering of the JL Wranglers. Sandstorm, JET Li and EVO JL.
A few shots of just Sandstorm.
Playing outside till the sun goes down.
