Hey there all. My name is Dan and we just bought our first Wrangler and thought I'd get involved with a group of individuals with a like mind. The new rig is a 2014 JKU Sahara package with the hard top, and the coveted third pedal. We live in Vegas, and I see that there are a few times that the group drives through town on the way to Moab and Logandale. I just love your guys' videos. Anyways, the rig is totally stock at the moment, but the shopping list has been made, just waiting on the funds availability to start playing with it.

Now if you guys are anything like all the other forums I've been on, you guys love pics...so not to disappoint, here are some pics for clicks.

Here she is the night we brought her home...

The first weekend after buying her, the wife and I thought she looked a little too clean so we took her for a little dirt bath down the Kingman Wash.

No matter where you go, you always run into another Jeeper on the trail...

On a recent trip to visit the in-laws up in Tahoe we found it only fitting to take the Jeep to the Rubicon. I mean, it would be rude not to...right?

The more eagle eyed among you will take note that in the three weeks between me buying MY Jeep and taking the trip to Tahoe, the wife decided she missed her 97 so much that she commandeered it, and stuck her little pink girl stickers on it so I wouldn't steal it back.

We made it this far, we couldn't leave without bringing some Rubicon dirt home with us.

Anyways, this is my wave hello. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from you nice folks.

I do have one question, probably something that has been discussed in length a bazillion time over, but here it goes anyways. As you guys can see, we only went about a couple hundred yards up the Rubicon before discretion got the better of me and I decided to not push it with stock 18s and all terrains...especially being alone. Just out of curiousity, can all you Rubicon veterans tell me just how far up the trail (Lake Tahoe side...Miller Lake trailhead) can we comfortably get before things get too hairy to make it with a stocker with street the All Terrain Duellers? Can we make it up to Miller Lake? Little further?

Thanks,

Dan

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I hate it when I get redirected to photoF#%^. Thanks Frank. ;)

Welcome to WAL, thank for sharing the pics. You've already done more wheeling than alot of people lol :standing wave:

Welcome! It's funny you called that third pedal "coveted." It isn't by everyone. That third pedal got me my 07 Jeep for $7K under asking price at the stealership. Folks here on Oahu don't want to sit in traffic for 2 hours working a clutch. :)

I like the pics. Once I'm back on the mainland, I plan to take my not-Rubicon to the Rubicon. haha

Sorry about the pic hosting, just thought it would be easier because, at least for me, the pics just show up in the thread without being redirected anywhere and you don't have to keep clicking on the attachments to view the pics. But it appears you guys like it a particular way so I'll do it that way from here on out.

Yeah she's been in the dirt a few times before we got it registered, and the first time she went into 4wd was on the Rubicon, seemed only fitting. She's a bit limited with those all terrains, but eventually she'll be up to the task of getting into most places.

Welcome! :standing wave:

I'm down here a lot for work and wheel as much as I can while I'm here. You've got some great trails close by. :thumb:

Thanks all for the warm welcome. Certainly looking forward to exploring the desert outside of town as much as I can.

But seriously, nobody has any insight in how far I should be able to comfortably take the stock rig with its wimpy all terrains up the Tahoe side of the Rubicon? I have in-laws that live in south Tahoe so we're up there several times a year and would like to know before I get myself in trouble how far we can go before the trail gets tricky.
