recovery question

Hey friends: I’ve got a 2013 stock JKU. It’s got a hook on the back, driver’s side, which attaches to the frame (see pic). I figure this is a recovery point that I can attach a strap to. Does anyone know if that’s right? Reason I ask is because I can't understand why they put it on the driver’s side, instead of in the center. Guess they wanted to leave room for a trailer hitch (which I don't have). But anyways: Is it safe/effective for me to give another car a recovery “pop” if I’m pulling from only the left side like that? Has anyone used it that way? Doesn’t seem like it would work if it’s not in the center…..? Thanks for helping, sorry for the nube question.

It can be used. For a trailer hitch keep an eye out on Craigslist I picked a brand new takeoff for $40 and OEM wiring off amazon for $30!

You should also have a hook on the rear passenger side, plus two hooks on the top of the bumper. They are all there to be used as recovery points.
