Hi, just joined Wayalife, and I’m starting out early on a build thread because I want to get feedback on some of the decisions I need to make on the next phase of upgrades. Before I get to that, I’ll go back and detail what I started with and what I’ve done so far.
I bought my 2015 JKUR in April, 2016 with 22k miles on it. I was searching everywhere for a Hydro blue one but was having no luck finding a used one since they hadn’t been out long in that color. One Friday night I was out to dinner with my wife and we were driving down Shelbyville Rd (busy road with lots of car dealerships) and I noticed a dark gray Rubicon at the Acura dealership.
The dark gray and silver were my next favorite colors so I stopped to take a look. A sales guy comes out and we start talking and I mentioned I wanted a Hydro blue one and he said, “Did you see the one we have?”. So he points to the other end of the lot and there is my Jeep sitting on a pedestal with a street light shining down on it! I swear I thought I heard some dramatic music in my head when I saw it!:bowdown::
Anyways, I went back the next day and looked it over, drove it, and bought it. I was really excited because it already had 37x12.50 Nitto Trail Graps on stock Rubicon wheels with 1.5” spacers, a Rugged Ridge Spare Tire Hinge, 4.5” BDS Long Arm lift, 1310 f/r drive shafts, , and a JKS J-Cal programmer to correct for the tires. So first thing I did was call all the Jeep shops around town to find out who did the work, and it ended up being Moab Offroad here in Louisville, so I went over to their shop and had them go through all the work they did to it. I was skeptical of the long arm lift but it wasn’t enough to keep me from buying the Jeep, I knew I might have to change it at some point. Here’s a couple pics of pics of how it looked when I bought it:
