Oil mixing?

Caught the Bug
Is it going to fock up my engine if I mix 5w20 with 10w30? I have 3 qts of oil left over from the car we should that I'd like to get rid of. Didn't know if 1 oil change with half of each would be a BAD idea?

Almost feel dumb writing this!

Yes don't mix it! Also don't adjust from 5w to 10w. The engine clearances are so tight that the heavier cold weight will only increase wear due to oil not being able to flow as easily.

I don't think it would mess up your engine for one short term use, but I definitely would not recommend doing it either. Put the oil in your trail kit for any on-trail emergencies, then it won't be wasted, or if you have an older diesel truck, you can burn it with your fuel.
