John's '18 JLU Sahara Build

When I bought my Jeep a few months ago I had no intention of doing any serious off roading. With that in mind I settled on the Sahara option with the Dana 44 LSD rear axle and had the dealer install a 2" Mopar lift and 35's just to make it look reasonable. Here she is the day I brought her home.



But then I decided that it just wasn't right to buy a Jeep and not get it dirty so I started doing a few trails and of course needed to add a few accessories to support me on the trail. So I added a Hi-Lift Jack, Powertank, LOD Sliders, and CB for communication.

So if your gonna go off road you need a winch, which requires a bumper so I went with the Warn Zeon 10s and the LOD Destroyer

Recent upgrades:

Swap axles with factory Rubicon axles w/ 4:10s and lockers
Metalcloak 3.5" lift
Falcon 3.3 adjustable shocks
Nitto 37's

Still need to get a rear bumper but haven't found anything yet that caught my eye.

I got a really good price on the axles from a guy who took them off for the Dynatrac 60/80 upgrade. If It breaks I'll do a Dynatrack upgrade.

Probably will. Was looking for something a little more ‘minimalist’ but the storage and mounting options of the tire carrier are pretty enticing.

I certainly love my LoD destroyer bumper! Works great and is solid! Now they just came out with the bike rack which is awesome

So, I've made a few changes since the original build. Swapped out the LOD sliders and installed EVO Boat Sliders and Rock Skins. Added Motobilt rear bumper and EVO tire carrier and most importantly, replaced the Metalcloak suspension with an EVO coilover kit. Next up will be installing the ProRock 44 after we get back from EJS.
