JL Drain Plugs

All,
I just came up over something that bothered me for a long time. Since I bought the Jeep.
Mine came with the rubber mats and as you may know they can be rinsed off as long as the actual plugs under the carpet are removed. Well I did not have the plugs under the carpet, Mopar mats just connected to the hole in the floor.
Anyway I got the actual plugs and the main difference is the noise level. After the install it got so much better. I love it.
what I am suggesting is to check that you in fact have the rubber plugs under the carpet. Plug can be used on the mat itself or under the carpet. See pictures.

I can't recall if ours did or didn't. But good info regardless.

Mine (Rubicon JL) just goes to the defined spot in the floor that can be removed. No well-defined tube in the mat like in your photo (as far as I am aware). I have not cut the hole.

Anything which let's water out can also let the water in if it is not adequately blocked.

Mine came with the plugs…That’s weird that your Jeep didn’t come with any. Wonder if they had supply issues.

Mine came with the carpet over the rubber plugs, the dealer apologized to me because they forgot to install the mats and they were loose in the cargo area. when I installed the mats they did not come with the plugs in them. I had to move them from the floor board to the mats.
