Help - what is this thing??

Anyone have an idea what this gizmo is? Seems to maybe be like an inline fuse thingy. It is located by the horn between the headlight assembly and the window washer tank. on my 2008 JK Ultd Rubicon. Thanks for any info.

Might be fog lights. If you've replaced your front bumper and havent replaced those lights, that could be it.

Vehicles are filled with plugs that are for options and accessories that aren't installed in every unit put out. It might be for nothing that your vehicle has, if nothing is broken or not working, it's likely not for anything you have from the factory.

The JKs that weren't rubicons have a few wires that go nowhere.

that looks like the plug for the hood alarm switch, i'll need to get a pic of mine tomorrow to check the wire colors

but check your washer fluid, make sure it works like it should.

My guess is the hood switch for the factory remote start. Don't know if that was an option in '08, but my '12 has the switch there.
